The man, the myth, the legend, retired from world football having won it all and bagging a premier league title in his last campaign as head coach. It has been six years since the dinosaur seemingly fossilized and his myths have all come undone. Sir Alex Ferguson created a dynasty that for so long became the joy of Manchester United supporters worldwide but with his retirement, our fears were soon realized.
A Siren is a mythical creature, similar to mermaids except a siren would lure sailors with their enchanting music and voices until the sailors shipwrecked on the rocky coast.

Old Trafford under Ferguson wrecked many a ship, with matches still hotly contested to this day as to Ferguson’s power of buying games. The truth, however, is far simpler, Ferguson was a genius.
Fast forward to David Moyes, Louis van Gaal, and Jose Mourinho and it has become clear that United’s dynasty crumbled with the great Sir Alex Ferguson. Moyes found the shoes too big to fill and instead of bringing his own boots he laced up retired ones. The task was clearly too much for the man with him getting the sack before the season finished. To be fair, he could have been given more time but once you have been hooked to an addictive drug such as winning, the lows from losing were too much for the entire being to bare.
Louis van Gaal was appointed after Giggs finished the season as caretaker manager. Louis brought a bit of excitement with his first press conference as he was a more assured manager than Moyes had been, with the hope that the task at hand would not be too daunting. The biggest problem noticed, however, was his ‘Philosophy’ which forced his players to push the ball around without any significant threat at times and a huge lack of creativity going forward.
The chosen one was next, finally getting the job after being eager to serve immediately after Ferguson first left the position. The chosen one proved beyond a doubt that, he really had talent even stating, ‘finishing second is one of my greatest achievements’. Truly with the squad at his disposal a second-place finish was a special feat for the special one. His attitude, however, left little to be desired and at the end of the day, that is why he got the sack.
It may be too soon, but from the moment Ole Gunnar Solskjaer began his reign, my heart lept with joy at returning to a system that created the United atmosphere I grew up watching. The bridges have been burned to the ground and the rebuilding stage is an exciting journey. Solskjaer believes in the ability of his youth while he draws up plans for the next 10+ years.
He is a legend, our very own baby faced assassin, as a true fan of the beautiful sport, I hope the new regime means hard times in the short term but with lots of growth for our team and for the enjoyment of the beautiful sport. Once I see the Singh family return to their usual sits then the conviction will have been communicated.
Just like the times when United would be 3 nil down at half time, only for Ferguson to give what I assume is a spirited team talk. To coming to back and drawing against Chelsea with the only goal by a player in blue coming from the only Jaun that Matas. Solsjkaer will have to show that he is more than just a cheerful face, and perhaps cement his own legacy.
As we lace up our boots and buy all manners of football jerseys to support our various teams come the weekend, one thing is for certain a beautiful season awaits.
