A Queen covered in Chocolate icing.
-Sampa The Great

Sampa the Great recently came home to Zambia and if she had not felt the full effects of stardom everywhere she had been to, then returning home to Zambia definitely resembled the return of royalty.
At the entrance to her show, local celebrity Abel Chungu stopped her and requested a picture as he was a big fan, you could see that dreams do come true from how slightly nervous he looked. I couldn’t help but think, damn, I look at you like this and you can equally look at another artist like that. Magical.
Chef 187 rocked the stage as only Chef can even inviting some fans to dance on stage as he did his thing.
However, the headliner had Great in her name and truth be told she did not disappoint. Before her set came on a friend of mine and I wondered how the mood of her music would change the atmosphere and if people would vibe to this Tembo lady from the East.
After an hour of screaming, shouting and acting as back up vocalists whenever she needed us, it’s safe to say Sampa knows how’s to rock a crowd and lay claim for her first show in the motherland as an absolute success.
It was a show of female empowerment, I have never watched Lauren Hill live but I can only assume Sampa was able to channel from those waters and even though Lauren Hill is still alive Sampa the Great deserves her own pedestal as we were mesmerized by the Black Girl Magic on stage, it became evident, we truly were not worthy.
Thank you for your service Sampa, thank you for being Great.

(This is Kevin, he put me on to Sampa’s Music and helped with the videos, top lad)
One shot two shot three times sorrows, carry all the weight of the world on your shoulders, give a couple crowns to the women who had bore us, taught us, focus, love and support us
