This is an art exhibition currently being held at Lusaka Muesum from tomorrow 20th April to 19th June you can find different art work in a joint collaborative effort between Zambian and Italian artists.
Edward Mukuka Nkoloso is being celebrated and I love it. He failed horribly but his the Zambian we can document for trying. He sought to send Zambians to space, his trip to Mars will forever be engraved on the minds of Zambians and the rest of the world. Because he dreamed a big dream, so big infact Russia and The USA were forced into thinking of space because Edward Mukuka Nkoloso thought about it. Forever a W in our beautiful and rich history.
Go watch a half an hour documentary about how he went about it all. Check the heroics of our failed mission to Mars which inspired the rest of the world to dream about going into space.
This event was significant for another reason, the minister made a promise for more art festivals and gallery shows to continuously preserve the nation and its culture. So if you’re a creative curating Zambian culture sounds like there could be hope.
With another promise to create an arts policy for Zambia to help enforce an industry within the arts as this is something that has primarily been lacking in the past. This policy will hopefully set parameters to ensure creatives are not exploited.
The speeches sounded like a win, the ART was definitely a win but don’t take my word for it go and check it out yourself.
