The apostle Paul is easily my favourite amongst the followers of Christ. Not only is he unashamed of the gospel but literally this man undergoes the exact same type of persecution he handed out to the early Christians before his transformation.
Yet, he is filled with Joy and contentment not because being beaten and imprisoned is painless and fun but because his joy doesn’t come from his surroundings but from who he has placed his life and trust in.
From his cell he proclaims peace and love and encourages a magnitude who are in far better circumstances than he is. During his transformation I assume the thought of his persecution must cross his mind. He was on his way to persecute more Christians when Jesus meets him on the road to Damascus.
Then to hold nothing back and be transformed knowing fully well what kind of life awaits him, and still go hard in that direction. Wow🤯
Now this whole Christian thing might be too shrouded in mystery for your liking and that’s fine. I just couldn’t stop thinking about how this person was transformed, not into having an easy life but a fulfilled life even to the point of death.
When I grow up I want to be like Paul, going head first towards my purpose. Not bothered by the threats of others, the turbulence of living or even about the future I have no control over.
To go into the world and be firm in understanding that God is always good and finding my joy and guidance in God and not my present misfortunes. I hope more and more that my joys and sufferings maybe be placed firmly on the anchor of Christ as Paul demonstrated.
…nothing can separate me from the love of Jehovah and as I open myself up to whatever this looks like, I pray you find your joy and peace in this uncertain world🙏🏾
