I’ve always wanted to use the phrase communicado oficial, for no other reason than it is simply cool to say. It basically means, official communication, in case you were wondering. Without the grandiose manner of the word, I would like to say everything we communicate is official and if not done properly will be lost in translation.
Hi and welcome to my blog, a place where ideas are examined and positivity is shared even in the shadows. Communication is beyond just what we say, and if not understood properly the lack of proper communication will nost likely cause us more harm than desired. As always the goal is to spread love on this blog and I hope that we learn how best we communicate so that we may spread more love, enjoy.
On a normal day, how much communication does one person get done? Research says as humans we speak at least 7000 words a day, that’s without mentioning how much we communicate without actually speaking.
What does it take to be a good communicator? There are long elaborate lists created for what it takes to be a good communicator however I feel we are meant to customize our own communication set skills, except we all share about 3 items on the various lists that I feel can not be ignored.
I’m modern because I make the difficult seem easy, and so I can communicate with the whole world.

Firstly, to be a great communicator, one must be willing to listen. Yes listening, that thing where our mouth isn’t moving and our attention is given wholeheartedly to the person speaking. Where we understand what is being said but even more than that our eyes listen to the actions being portrayed by the body language of those we are engaged with.
Secondly be open minded. This one seems like a trip because honestly when you allow the other persons perspective to make sense it usually seems to mean that the only outcome is that our perspective won’t be heard. For listening to be effective we must be open minded to what others have to say the experiences they’ve witnessed and what’s that’s brought to their lives.
And lastly stand in your truth. This last point seems pretty strange I know but there is a power to effective communication when the people engaged both know what their truth is and they can represent that for themselves. This may seem like a contradiction to being open minded but communication isn’t about changing minds, it’s an interaction between people mostly to understand the occurrence of a situation.
Some people believe if we are to communicate then at the end of it all one of us must change our minds. Or someone must come out victorious but that leads to competition and not communication.
Some of us are so afraid to look the fool that we can not allow ourselves to communicate at all without making life revolve around our inflated egos. Communication is a skill for a reason because at every discussion you’ll need to use so many more qualities than these three mentioned.
I however believe, if you pick these three qualities and master them, the rest of the qualities will surround you at the time when you need them and you won’t go wrong skillfully navigating the land mines waiting for you in every interaction you encounter.
