Church of Groove

I’ve always thought Tio Nason made beautiful music. When I found out ‘Star Dust’ has it’s origin sampled from Lecrae’s song, ‘Background’. That’s a feat in itself. When you can make a song so good I could listen to and it’s original back to back and it never once crossed my mind.

That’s because Tio has always displayed an understanding of the importance of production and creative output. That is ultimately what is on display on his new, and much awaited (for me) album titled ‘Church of Groove’.

For the Christian that enjoys a beat you can dance to, at the family chill and on the way home in high spirits.

What I love about music is the lyrics, those laced with a production high on its own supply and you have a trip to thrill.

A seven track wonder. Seven for perfection because what is a skip button to this masterclass in music. There is a song where towards the end we get a guitar solo of such magnitude that I loved listening to the solo.

If all upbeat music had this creative lyrical waxing I’d be the biggest amapianos fan and perhaps that’s why there is no hype. A beautiful project with amazing instrumentals and lyrical prowess that I have no doubt.

This is a classic tape, plus there are visuals on YouTube that are so aesthetically pleasing. Creative, impactful, and possibly ahead of his time.

That is probably Tio Nason’s biggest flaw as a musician, he oozes so much talent. Talent that’s been honed skillfully over the years

I can only wonder the amount of practice behind the scenes to get this far. I can only thank Sampa The Great for lighting a fire under this man’s shoes.

We may never know the reasons you disappeared into the shadows, but thank you for such a wonderful welcome back offering.

I absolutely look forward to more
